Sitka Critical Secondary Water Supply
Location: Sitka, AK
CRW designed a new fish-safe intake and raw water pump station on Sawmill Creek, serving as a secondary water supply to Sitka’s existing unfiltered source, helping them offset nearly $500,000/year in operating costs. The water is pumped to a new state-of-the-art 6-million gallons per day direct microfiltration membrane filtration plant, the largest of this type in the State of Alaska. New on-site chlorine generation equipment replaced the old gas injection system.
